Even in playoff run, Red Wings find time for moms
Even though they had to be at the Joe Louis Arena for an optional skate at noon on Sunday, Kris Draper and Nicklas Lidstrom made sure to first celebrate Mother?s Day with their families first.
?Even though we?re busy in the playoffs, you still try to put the Mother?s Day gift out there,? Lidstrom said. ?I took my oldest son to get her a couple gifts. We didn?t forget about her.?
Draper said his two children made presents at school for their mother, Julie, and helped make breakfast on Sunday morning.
?It was a good morning,? Draper said. ?A little breakfast in bed.
?It was probably around 8:30 when the kids did that. At least we got to spend the morning with them.?
The Wings were scheduled to fly to Dallas at 3 p.m. today.
