It seemed rather low budget to me. Didn't seem very glitzy. It annoyed me when the presenters were up there and you could here all the talking and glass clanging and that kidna stuff.

I didn't really watch the whole thing, just inbetween commercials on 24.

Was Borat's exceptance speech funny? Anybodies "Golden Globes" fall out?

I thought his speech was pretty funny.

I was surprised there was no real "golden globes" going on like before.

As you may know, I watch very little TV. It just so happened I had some down time last night and saw it was on while channel surfing. Seeing it was the Gloden Globe and actress like to show their globes, I'd stick it out to see what I could see. :whistling:

I can never get past that name "Golden Globes".

It sounds like an award for fantastic breasts. It would be a hell of alot more interesting than any other awards show. I can't remember the last one I ever watched. I think it was before cable TV.

I'm not much for awards shows, or musicals for that matter, but Jennifer did get majorly ripped off on American Idol and seemed very sincere in her acceptance speech (heard clips but didn't watch the award show). Good for her!

Mother & brother of Jennifer Hudson murdered

"CHICAGO (WABC) -- The mother of Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson has been killed, according to reports in Chicago.

Investigators said two shooting victims were discovered inside a home belonging to Hudson's mother just before 3:00 this afternoon.

The home is located at 7019 South Yale in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.

WLS-TV has confirmed that one of the victims was 57-year-old Darnell Hudson.

The other victim was identified as Jennifer's brother, Jason. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies.

An Amber Alert was also issued for a child who might also be related to the singer and Oscar-winning actress.

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be the result of domestic abuse, but she declined to elaborate.

Authorities were looking for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban missing from the area around the home with 7-year-old Julian King inside, Bond said. The child was also possibly a relative of Hudson, she said.

The tragedy comes as Hudson continues to reach new career heights. Her song "Spotlight" is No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts and her recently released, self-tiled album debut and has been a top seller. She is also starring in hit movie "The Secret Life of Bees" and won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in "Dreamgirls."

In an interview last year with Vogue, Hudson credited her mother to audition for "American Idol," which launched her career.

The singer, whose father died when she was a teenager, described herself as very close to her family. In a recent AP interview she said her family, which includes older siblings Julia and Jason, helped keep her grounded.

"My faith in God and my family, they're very realistic and very normal, they're not into the whole limelight kind of thing, so when I go home to Chicago that's just another place that's home," she said. "I stand in line with everybody else, or, when I go home to my mom I'm just Jennifer, (so she says), 'You get up and you take care of your own stuff.' And I love that; I don't like when people tell you everything you want to hear - I want to hear the truth, you know what I mean?"
