Pardon the pun, but for a vampire show with a lot of potential, this sucks.

The good news is that I have finally hit a show that, in it's first episode, allowed me to say "This show is not going to make it, and I will have one less hour long show that I'm interested in watching".

The bad news is that I wasted an hour of my life that I'll never get back on the premier episode.

Premise? Tired. Vampires living in L.A. There's a whole gang of them. There's a "clique". They're afraid of being discovered. "We live in the age of fingerprints...dna..." blah blah blah I read almost every god damned word of fucking dialogue from this episode in any one of Anne Rice's novels, except her books are actually really well written. It's like someone took an Anne Rice book, took a shit on it, threw it in a blender, poured the resulting mess onto a scanner attached to a computer with OCR software, and the gibberish that resulted became the script for this abortion.

Characters? Shallow, hollow, faded rip offs from the Anne Rice books.

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

I have to amend my original thoughts.

Having watched it again the second time around in re-run season, I totally got hooked. I got past the first few kinda slow episodes and really got into it.

A great finale.

The inclusion of "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeroy Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenkins!!!!!!!!!!" was an awesome touch :D

Having recently been re-watching these on SyFy, I have to say that I'm really still kind of annoyed that they didn't renew this.

If they had JUST renewed it for one more year, it would've hooked into the "true blood", "twilight", etc., vampire craze...and would've been second only to true blood.
