any know how to fix a power window in a van? My drivers window has decided it's not going to go up or down anymore and I don't really have the $ to take it to the shop to get fixed so I thought maybe some of you wonderful people would have an idea. Please...pretty please.

Need more details than "it's not working"

Is the window motor working, can you hear it? Is the window just stuck? Is it both windows?

Both windows...check the fuse.

just one window with no motor sound...the wire in the door could be unplugged or the motor is burned out.

if it's the motor, it's not terribly hard. I've replaced a window motor before on that POS ford windstar we used to have.

had to order the part, took the door apart, took out the old motor, hooked up new motor, and put door back togoether. WORKED.

and i'm not that mechanically inclined when it comes to vehicles.

It's just the drivers window, it won't budge. I'm not sure but it sounds like the motor is trying to go it just doesn't have a whole lot of pick up and go. My friends hubby is gonna look at it for me I think. Um Jokeray that's kind of funny because my van is a Ford Windstar..lol

sell the money pit and get something else. for it being such a "common" vehicle, it sure was expensive to fix all the shit that went wrong with it.

the day we got rid of our piece of shit windstar was a pretty happy day for me.

I've heard many people saying how much a piece of shit the Windstar is. The better Ford mini van was the Aerostar.

widstar was a horrible POS, and there were a ton of them out on the road, then ford got out of the minivan market, and the windstar was such a POS, you don't see many out there anymore. We bought a Kia Sedona, and it's been wonderful.

in 2009, we got are 2008 Kia Sedona for $16,500. it was BRAND NEW, 180 miles on it. Crossovers look cool, but i was looking for value also, and could not find a new minivan/crossover for less than $20K. I'm cheep!
